Everything you need to attribute Google Business Profile traffic

One-click GBP presets

Website, Menu, Order, Booking, Directions, Call, Post and Products each set the right utm_content instantly — no guessing the naming.

GA4-ready tags

Writes the exact utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign and utm_content keys Analytics reads — so profile traffic stops hiding in Direct.

Keeps existing parameters

Paste a URL that already has query strings and the builder merges the UTM tags in cleanly, without breaking or duplicating what is already there.

Copy, open or save

Copy the tagged link, open it to test the redirect, or save a named link for every Business Profile button so they live in one place.

Installable & offline

Add it to your desktop or home screen and build tagged links from your phone while you update the profile — no connection required.

Private by design

Every link is built in your browser. Nothing you paste is uploaded, logged or sent to a server, and saved links stay on your device.

How it works

  1. 1

    Paste your landing page

Drop in the exact page each button should point to — your homepage, menu, booking page or a location URL.

  2. 2

    Pick the GBP action

Choose Website, Menu, Booking, Directions, Call or Post. The builder fills matching UTM tags you can fine-tune anytime.

  3. 3

    Copy it into your profile

Copy the tagged link and paste it into the matching field in your Google Business Profile. GA4 does the rest.

Tips & detailed help

What each UTM parameter does

Source is where the visit came from (google). Medium is the channel type (organic). Campaign groups the effort (gbp). Content names the specific button, and Term is an optional label such as a location or keyword.

A convention that scales

Keep utm_source and utm_medium identical across every profile link, and let utm_content carry the difference (website, menu, booking). Consistency is what makes your Analytics reports group into one clean row instead of a dozen near-duplicates.

Links that already have parameters

If your landing page already carries query strings — a language flag or a referral code — the builder updates or adds the UTM keys and leaves the rest untouched. It never produces a broken ?utm=…?utm=… URL.

Reading it in GA4

In GA4 open Reports → Acquisition → Traffic acquisition and switch the dimension to Session campaign, source or medium. Your Business Profile clicks appear under the exact values you set here, so you can compare buttons and locations side by side.

Frequently asked questions

What is a GBP UTM Builder?

It is a free tool that adds UTM campaign tags to the links you use in your Google Business Profile — your website, menu, booking, order, directions and post buttons. Those tags tell Google Analytics that a visit came from your Business Profile, so the traffic no longer hides inside Direct or Organic. You paste a landing page, pick the action, and copy the tagged link.

Which UTM values should I use for Google Business Profile?

A common convention is utm_source=google, utm_medium=organic and utm_campaign=gbp, with utm_content naming the specific button such as website, menu or booking. The builder pre-fills these defaults and you can change any of them. The only rule that matters is to stay consistent across every link so your reports group cleanly.

Will adding UTM tags hurt my local SEO or rankings?

No. UTM parameters are query-string values that analytics tools read; they do not change the page a visitor lands on and are not a ranking factor. They only affect how the visit is attributed in your reports. Use a canonical tag on your pages, as most sites already do, and duplicate-content concerns are handled too.

Where do I paste the tagged link in Google Business Profile?

Open your Business Profile, edit the relevant field, and replace the plain URL with the tagged one — for example the website link, the menu or order link, or the URL inside a post or offer. Use one tagged link per action so each button reports separately in Analytics.

Does this work with GA4 and Google Analytics?

Yes. The builder writes the standard utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content and utm_term parameters that GA4 and Universal Analytics both read automatically. In GA4 you will see the traffic under Traffic acquisition, grouped by the source, medium and campaign you chose.

Is my data private?

Yes. Every link is built entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you paste is uploaded, logged or sent to a server, and saved links are stored only in your own browser. You can use the tool offline once it has loaded.
